Shares of Larsen & Toubro closed at ₹4,119 on the NSE on Tuesday, gaining ₹29 or 0.71 per cent over the previous close of ₹4,090, as investors reacted to a back-to-back announcement of large international contract wins by the engineering conglomerate.

The stock touched an intraday high of ₹4,125.30 and a low of ₹4,066.60, with the volume-weighted average price settling at ₹4,094.45. Trading was on the EQ series.

The buying interest follows two press releases filed with BSE and NSE over consecutive days. On Monday, August 24, L&T’s Energy Hydrocarbon Onshore (LTEH Onshore) division announced it had signed the contract for an ultra-mega gas compression facilities project in the West Asia, a classification that places the contract value above ₹15,000 crore. The project involves EPC of gas compression plants handling sour gas, along with two 230 kV extra-high-voltage substations to be executed by L&T’s Power Transmission & Distribution business.

On Tuesday, August 25, L&T’s Renewables business announced a separate major-category order, valued between ₹5,000 crore and ₹10,000 crore, to develop three Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects for a client in the West Asia. The three projects together add up to 6 gigawatt-hours of storage capacity and include grid interconnections, pooling substations, and underground cables. Each project features a 4-hour BESS with liquid cooling technology.

The two announcements together represent a significant addition to L&T’s West Asia order book across both the hydrocarbon and renewables segments, reinforcing the company’s positioning as a large-scale EPC contractor in the region. L&T is a $32 billion Indian multinational with eight decades of operations across EPC, hi-tech manufacturing, and services.
