Urban Company vs Kent RO: Delhi HC directs pull-down of disputed purifier ads

Urban Company took Kent RO Systems to the Delhi High Court over an advertising dispute involving its NATIVE range of water purifiers. Urban Company had earlier filed a defamation and disparagement suit against Kent RO Systems before the Delhi High Court over advertisements and social media content concerning its NATIVE range of water purifiers.

The company alleged that Kent RO’s advertisements and social media content made false and misleading claims, including describing NATIVE’s 2-year filter life and service life feature as a “marketing gimmick” and stating that the purifiers were “unsafe” and “risky” for consumers.

Urban Company had earlier filed a defamation and disparagement suit against Kent RO Systems before the Delhi High Court over advertisements and social media content concerning its NATIVE range of water purifiers.

Kent RO had launched a concerted advertising campaign through several advertisements and social media content featuring various influencers, making what it described as false and misleading claims about the 2-year filter life and 2-year service life feature offered for its Native M0, M1, M2, M1 Pro and M2 Pro water purifiers.

Following a hearing on August 12, 2026, Kent RO told the court that it would pull down the advertisements and social media content concerned and would not run similar disparaging promotional material. Kent RO has been asked to remove the content within 15 days. The court’s order was published on its website on August 22. Other legal matters between the companies, including a patent infringement suit and a tortious interference suit, remain sub-judice.
