The J.M. Smucker Co. (NYSE: SJM) reported fiscal 2027 first-quarter net sales of $2.219 billion, up 5% from $2.113 billion a year earlier. Net income was $324.3 million, compared with a net loss of $43.9 million in the prior-year quarter, while diluted earnings per share were $3.03.

The company updated its full-year fiscal 2027 outlook. It now expects net sales to decline 1.0% to 2.0%, adjusted earnings per share of $10.50 to $11.00, and free cash flow of approximately $1.1 billion.

• First-quarter operating income was $511.6 million, compared with $45.6 million a year earlier.
• Cash provided by operating activities totaled $425.7 million, versus cash used of $10.6 million in the prior-year period.
• Free cash flow was $337.3 million, compared with negative $94.9 million a year earlier.
• U.S. Retail Coffee sales rose 13% to $807.8 million, while U.S. Retail Frozen Handheld and Spreads sales increased 3% to $499.3 million.
• The first quarter included approximately $115.0 million in tariff refunds.
