HDFC Bank shares rose 1 per cent in early trade on Friday after the private lender, acting through its GIFT City Branch, completed the issue of total US$ 1,750 million Senior Unsecured Bonds.
The stock traded at ₹729.35 on the NSE at 10.09 am, after rising to ₹732.60 from the previous close of ₹725.05.

The stock’s upper band is fixed at ₹797.55, while the lower band is at ₹652.55, NSE data showed. HDFC Bank shares had recently hit a 52-week low of ₹715.10 on August 19.
Trading activity
At the time of writing, the traded volume stood at 99.71 lakh, while the traded value stood at ₹728.20 crore. HDFC Bank’s total market capitalisation stood at ₹11.24 lakh crore, while its free-float market capitalisation stood at ₹11.15 lakh crore.
The buy quantity stood at 10,47,470, compared with a sell quantity of 18,39,033. The adjusted P/E ratio stood at 13.94.
HDFC Bank, the private lender, had been set to raise up to $1.75 billion through fixed-rate senior notes. Moody’s Investors Service Singapore had assigned the proposed issuance a Baa3 rating with a Stable Outlook.
Separately, according to a regulatory filing dated August 19, the RBI has approved LIC’s application to acquire up to 9.99 per cent of the bank’s paid-up share capital or voting rights.
The filing said the RBI “has accorded its approval to Life Insurance Corporation of India (”LIC”)” for acquiring the additional stake in HDFC Bank.
