Billionaire investor Ray Dalio has stated that he expects Bitcoin, the leading cryptocurrency, to “do relatively well,” given that governments around the world are grappling with rising debt and large fiscal deficits.

In his recent LinkedIn post, Dalio has argued that the United States and other major economies are approaching a critical stage of the long-term debt cycle.

Weakening demand for government debt, rising long-term bond yields, and monetary expansion are all signs of growing pressure.

However, he has also repeatedly warned that governments could attempt to suppress Bitcoin if it became too successful.

By November 2025, Dalio disclosed that Bitcoin had represented roughly 1% of his portfolio for years.

Dalio reiterated those concerns in March. However, his latest comments indicate that he might view the leading cryptocurrency as a safe haven alternative.
