The Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC) CEO, Salah Abdel Kerim, reviewed PetroZenima and Alamein Petroleum’s FY 2025/26 results, with the companies focusing on production growth, reserve development, and asset safety under the sector’s 5-year production plan.

During PetroZenima and PetroMalek’s general assembly, Abdel Kerim and Samir Raslan, Chairman of the South Valley Egyptian Petroleum Holding Company (Ganope), stressed the need to implement planned drilling programs, develop petroleum reserves and strengthen production facilities.

Tarek Abdel Fattah, Chairman of PetroZenima, said the companies are using new exploration studies targeting the Nukhul and limestone formations at PetroZenima and the Matulla and Miocene formations at PetroMalek to develop remaining reserves of around 4 million barrels. The companies also saved about 686,000 liters of diesel during the fiscal year.

Meanwhile, Hafez El-Shamy, Chairman of Alamein Petroleum, presented the company’s FY 2025/26 results. Alamein Petroleum produced 613,200 barrels from the Horus and East Abu Sennan fields during the year, meeting 100% of its production target.

East Abu Sennan production reached a record of around 1,800 barrels per day before increasing to 2,400 bbl/d currently. Alamein Petroleum spent $37 million during the year, including on four exploration and development wells, while recording 2.7 million safe working hours.

Earlier, the results follow PetroZenima’s plans announced in February to invest $23.6 million in FY 2026/27 and accelerate exploration across its concessions. Abdel Kerim called at the time for fast-tracking three exploration wells included in the five-year production plan.

PetroZenima had earlier outlined plans in January 2025 to drill the 1-NWSAZ appraisal well during FY 2025/26 and, if successful, study connecting it to the Muzhil offshore platform, targeting around 2,000 bbl/d.

Notably, in July, Ganope reviewed drilling, exploration and production programs at Esh El-Mallaha Petroleum Company (ESHPETCO) fields in the Eastern Desert. The visit also focused on cooperation among ESHPETCO, PetroGulf, PetroNefertiti, Magawish and PetroAmir, including the use of shared infrastructure and new technologies.
