Busan Bank has officially launched its “AI Crew,” a group of artificial intelligence frontrunner employees selected from each headquarters division. The bank held an inauguration ceremony at its headquarters on the 21st, embarking on a bank-wide initiative to expand AI work culture by enhancing employees’ AI capabilities and boosting productivity.
Busan Bank selected approximately 90 employees for the AI Crew, with at least one representative from each headquarters department. These members will apply AI tools to actual work processes in connection with the bank’s ongoing Microsoft 365 Copilot pilot program. Their core mission is to identify ways to improve efficiency by leveraging Copilot for repetitive tasks such as document drafting and data analysis, and to share the experience and know-how gained in the process with fellow employees.
Through December, Busan Bank will operate a structured training and hands-on program for the AI Crew. The curriculum includes M365 and Copilot training, prompt engineering workshops, monthly offline workshops, task-based mission challenges, department-level AI mission challenges, and hackathons aimed at discovering AI use cases.
The approach goes beyond simply adopting technology—frontline employees will directly apply AI to their own work, validate its effectiveness, and then scale successful practices across the organization. The bank plans to use this initiative to reduce time spent on repetitive and mundane tasks, creating an environment where employees can focus on higher-value work such as customer consultation and financial service planning.
A dedicated communication channel will also be established. Using Microsoft Teams, the bank will foster a voluntary learning environment where employees can freely share AI experiences and ideas, with proven best practices from the field slated for broader application across the bank.
A Busan Bank official said, “The key to AI transformation lies not merely in adopting new technology, but in employees applying it to their actual work and changing the way they operate. We hope the AI Crew will serve as the starting point for change in each department and help create practical AI use cases unique to Busan Bank.”
