ICICI Bank shares traded marginally higher on Thursday, gaining ₹5.50 or 0.39 per cent to ₹1,407.50 on the NSE as of 12.06 pm, riding a broader recovery in banking stocks after the Bank Nifty opened with a sharp gap-up near the 57,507 mark, reclaiming its 20-day exponential moving average.

The stock opened at ₹1,407.80, touched a high of ₹1,413 and held above its intraday low of ₹1,403.30. Traded volume reached 34.04 lakh shares by midday, with traded value at ₹479.40 crore, significantly higher than Wednesday’s 11.12 lakh shares, suggesting increased participation. Notably, 73.90 per cent of traded quantity was in the deliverable segment, indicating a degree of conviction among buyers rather than purely intraday positioning. Total market capitalisation stood at approximately ₹10.10 lakh crore.

The Bank Nifty’s morning recovery provided the broader tailwind, with the index’s RSI hovering around 51, in neutral territory, indicating improving but not overstretched momentum. Immediate resistance for the index lies at 57,500–57,600, with a breakout above that potentially opening the 57,800–58,000 zone. Key support sits at 57,200–57,000.

ICICI Bank’s year-to-date gain of 5.16 per cent continues to stand out against the Nifty 50’s decline of 7.39 per cent over the same period. Over three and five years, the stock has returned 48 per cent and nearly 107 per cent respectively, comfortably outpacing the broader index. Its 52-week range remains ₹1,187.60 to ₹1,480, with the latter recorded as recently as July 20, 2026.
