Georgina Energy PLC (LSE:GEX) told investors that preparations for drilling at its Hussar EP513 prospect remain on schedule for a September 2026 spud after contractors completed the water well needed to support operations.
The well is producing a consistent 250,000 to 350,000 litres per day, providing water for drilling fluids as well as supplies that will be treated for use at the camp. Contractors will now move the water-well rig towards the centre of the drilling pad to drill and set a 20-inch conductor pipe ahead of mobilisation of the contracted Ensign 970 drill rig.
Other site works are also progressing, with excavation and waterproof lining completed for the Turkey’s Nest water storage pond and drilling cuttings sump. Rolling and compacting of the drilling and camp pads has begun, while grading, trimming and gravel placement are underway or complete.
Hussar, in Western Australia’s Officer Basin, is planned to reach around 3,200 metres, with scope to drill deeper depending on gas occurrences and reservoir quality.
The programme will primarily target subsalt formations for helium, hydrogen and natural gas, with the September spud remaining the company’s next stated operational milestone.
