Justin Rose slam dunks hole-in-one during final round of Tour Championship on extremely difficult Par 3

Justin Rose was putting together a forgettable final round at the Tour Championship on Sunday, but then things changed in an instant with one swing on the par 3 ninth hole.

Standing on the ninth tee at 2-over par for the day and well out of contention in the PGA Tour’s season finale, Rose grabbed a six-iron out of his bag and proceeded to hit the perfect shot, literally. The Par 3 was playing 208 yards on Sunday, and it isn’t necessarily the ideal spot to turn around your day with the hole demanding a lengthy carry over water, but it didn’t bother the Englishman.

Rose struck his iron perfectly, and seconds later, he got to witness his ball disappear into the bottom of the hole.

While every ace is rare and unique, they don’t get much better than a slam-dunk hole-in-one that never touches land until it actually finds the cup.

Rose was sure to celebrate accordingly, like most would, by simply holding his arms up in the air before slamming his finger down to mimic what everyone had just witnessed his golf ball do.

Unfortunately for Rose, he followed up the ace on the ninth hole with a bogey on the Par 4 tenth, but what he managed to pull off on Sunday will be something he won’t forget for a long, long time.

World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler almost joined in on the hole-in-one fun moments before Rose managed his ace when he hit it to inside three inches on the Par 3 second hole.

Rose, the FedEx Cup winner in 2018, picked up the 13th PGA Tour win of his career earlier this year at the Farmers Insurance Open, and did so in dominating fashion, besting the field by seven shots.

The 46-year-old will assuredly be looking to strengthen his resume during the 2027 season while looking to make the European Ryder Cup team for what will be his eighth appearance in the biennial event when it heads to Ireland next fall.
