Vinteum, an organization dedicated to the development of Bitcoin, published a report on Thursday (27) to commemorate its four years. The highlight is the support from established collaborators, as well as assistance to new developers starting their careers.
Lucas Ferreira, founder and CEO of Vinteum, emphasizes that the fourth year was marked by efforts to make the organization more solid and enduring.
“After three years of creating programs and helping to build a technical Bitcoin community in Brazil, the last 12 months have been focused on continuity: supporting established collaborators, helping new developers build lasting careers in open source, and strengthening internal systems.”
He also notes that the collaborators supported by Vinteum now work in areas such as Bitcoin Core, rust-bitcoin, Lightning, wallets, mining, privacy, testing, cryptography, network observability, and alternative node implementations.
Outside of Vinteum, the text points out that many of them have also secured scholarships, jobs, and relationships with other projects.
Presenting exact numbers, the organization claims to have received over 300 applications for the second cohort of the Bitcoin Dev Launchpad.
Out of this total, 133 were selected to start the program, 35 developed a proof of concept, 23 were selected for a residency in Florianópolis, 12 were awarded scholarships from Vinteum, and two senior participants directly received scholarships.
As can be seen in the image above, Vinteum also highlights that it maintains 8 active scholarship holders and 13 participants in its training program. Additionally, 13 Brazilian developers are now working full-time on Bitcoin open source development, and 67 community members are involved in cryptocurrency development.
Now mentioning names, the report cites various contributions made by developers who received a scholarship or participated in Vinteum’s training program.
- Caio (K-YU): one of his main projects was to complete the integration of libbitcoin-system into BitcoinFuzz.
- Renato Britto: works in different areas of the rust-bitcoin ecosystem, with weekly mentoring from maintainer Tobin Harding.
- Victor André: works full-time on privacy in Bitcoin’s peer-to-peer communication and network analysis, under the guidance of Edil Medeiros.
- Jayr Motta: contributes full-time to Mujina, an open-source firmware project for Bitcoin mining hardware.
- m4ycon: works full-time on monitoring and observability of the Bitcoin network, studying how transactions and blocks propagate through the network and developing tools to measure and analyze this behavior.
- Octavio Lucca: works full-time on Bitcoin network observability, with an increasing focus on bringing monitoring and analysis infrastructure to Floresta.
- bc1cindy: works full-time on research and development of privacy tools for Bitcoin, under the mentorship of Yuval “nothingmuch” and Armin Sabouri.
- Lucas Lima: works full-time on research and implementation of the Bitcoin protocol, focusing on Fountain Codes, btcd, and network-level experimentation. His scholarship combines studies in cryptography with practical protocol development.
- Yan-pi: works full-time on Bitcoin wallet infrastructure, taking on an increasingly significant role in the Bitcoin Dev Kit and receiving regular mentorship from BDK maintainer Leonardo Lima and Vinteum’s Head of Research, Edil Medeiros.
- allocz: works full-time on performance, resource usage, and testability of btcd.
- Vinicius Cestari: works full-time on Bitcoin Core and related infrastructure, with a particular focus on inter-process communication and libmultiprocess.
- Isaque Franklin: follows a training path with a strong focus on research, aimed at developing the depth necessary to contribute to Bitcoin’s cryptographic infrastructure in the future.
- TheMhv: primarily works on Cashu and the Cashu Development Kit (CDK).
- Bruno Garcia: continues to be an active contributor to Bitcoin Core, focusing on networking, fuzzing, and the scripting and wallet subsystems.

- ThgO.O: transitioned from a participant in Vinteum’s training program to a Vinteum-supported scholar in collaboration with the BTCPay Server Foundation.
- Erick Cestari: focused on security research in Bitcoin and Lightning, combining differential fuzzing, fuzzing infrastructure, manual review, offensive testing, and protocol analysis.
- Chris G.: has been focused on strengthening the technical and organizational foundations of Floresta.
- Johnny Santos: joined Vinteum in March 2026 to work on P2Poolv2 and help strengthen the open-source software suite for Bitcoin mining.
- Leonardo Lima: solidified his role as a maintainer in the Bitcoin Dev Kit (BDK) ecosystem.
- Pins: continued to deepen his work in LND and the broader Lightning protocol ecosystem.
More details about the contributions of developers can be found in the Vinteum’s four-year full report, which also highlights other names such as Edil Medeiros, head of research at the organization, André Neves, advisor, and Thaiz Batista, head of operations.
“The role of Vinteum is not to act as a gatekeeper, but to facilitate these pathways through technical knowledge, mentoring, funding, connections, and community. The goal is not to control the process, but to strengthen an ecosystem capable of training and supporting collaborators through different paths.”
In conclusion, the report also highlights events such as BitDevs, Bitcoin Students Day, Hack4Freedom, workshops, and other technical initiatives, as well as Casa21, a physical space in São Paulo alongside the organization’s online work.
