The Taiwan Stock Exchange officially launched its new investor education brand “TWSE Academy” on August 27, convening its first advisory committee meeting to gather input from industry and academia, with the first phase of results expected by the end of this year. Amid the rapid proliferation of financial products and the massive flow of information across social media, the Taiwan Stock Exchange aims to use this platform to help investors quickly find accurate and trustworthy answers when they need them.
Taiwan Stock Exchange Chairman Lin Hsiu-ming said at the launch meeting that investor education is not about telling people what to buy, but about cultivating the ability to understand markets and identify risks. He emphasized that “TWSE Academy” aims to simplify complex regulations and clearly explain unfolding market issues, ensuring accurate knowledge stays ahead of misinformation.
The name “TWSE Academy” plays on the Mandarin homophones for “just right for learning” and “truly easy to learn,” conveying the spirit that “now is the perfect time to start learning” and “investment knowledge is actually quite accessible.” The “just right” element not only represents the ideal timing for learning but also signifies that the content is tailored to meet the needs and interests of different investors, echoing the platform’s segmented approach and user-centric design. The name also links the Chinese character for “securities” with the Exchange’s brand identity, making it concise, memorable, and instantly recognizable to the public.
At the inaugural advisory committee meeting, the Taiwan Stock Exchange invited Chien Hung-ming, Secretary General of the Chinese Securities Association; Tsai Li-ling, Secretary General of the Securities Investment Trust and Consulting Association of the R.O.C.; Yang Hsiao-wen, Professor of Finance at National Chengchi University; and Hu Tse-hua, Business Committee Member of the Taiwan Stock Exchange, to serve as the first advisory committee members. They provided recommendations on brand positioning, market demand, content direction, and learning formats, laying the foundation for subsequent content planning and brand development.
The Taiwan Stock Exchange noted that “TWSE Academy” will prioritize segmented content, short-form videos, and timely market topics, starting from the questions investors genuinely care about and providing suitable learning content based on different investment experience levels, life stages, and everyday scenarios. Whether it is a novice just starting to invest, a working professional seeking to grasp market movements, or an investor preparing for retirement or looking to deepen their knowledge, everyone can find learning content that meets their needs—making investment knowledge not just “abundant in volume,” but truly “findable, understandable, and applicable.”
The Taiwan Stock Exchange stressed that “TWSE Academy” is not starting from scratch but represents an upgrade of the Exchange’s years of investor education achievements. The Exchange has long promoted investment knowledge through diverse channels including video content, seminars, campus outreach, teaching materials for educators and students, digital learning, and investment tools, reaching over 25 million people annually. By consolidating these efforts under a single brand, the Exchange is advancing its broad educational reach toward greater segmentation and precision, maximizing the impact of years of accumulated content and resources.
The Taiwan Stock Exchange expressed its hope that when the public needs investment knowledge, their first instinct will be to think of the Exchange and find “TWSE Academy.” The platform is expected to deliver its first phase of results by the end of this year, with subsequent expansion of content and gradual optimization of services based on feedback from all stakeholders, building a credible one-stop investment learning portal.
