TAQA Arabia has entered the Jordanian market by initiating a 14-kilometer natural gas pipeline project for Al-Rawdah Industrial City, part of two industrial-city gas projects backed by $70 million from the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD), according to Petra.
The project forms part of two natural gas supply projects for El-Rawdah and Muwaqqar industrial cities, backed by $70 million in funding from the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD). A consortium comprising Petrojet and Ahmad Yousef Al-Tarawneh and Partner construction company was awarded the Muwaqqar project.
The announcement came in the presence of Saleh Al-Kharabsheh, Jordan’s Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources; Pakinam Kafafi, CEO of TAQA Arabia; and representatives of ADFD.
The projects fall under a Memorandum of Understanding between ADFD and the Jordanian government, represented by the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation, to finance development projects across the Kingdom.
“Our entry into the Jordanian market marks another strategic step in TAQA Arabia’s regional expansion,” Kafafi said, adding that the company plans to use its infrastructure experience to support Jordan’s industrial sector.
Tarek El-Hawary, Managing Director of TAQA Gas, a subsidiary of TAQA Arabia, said the company will maintain quality and safety standards during construction and provide manufacturers in the Ma’an Development Area with a reliable gas supply.
Notably, the project follows TAQA Arabia’s move earlier this month to establish a presence in Jordan. While reporting its H1 2026 financial results in early August, the company said its Board of Directors had approved establishing a branch in the Kingdom and authorized management to complete the required procedures.
TAQA Arabia — established in 2006 — invests in a broad range of energy infrastructure, including natural gas transmission and distribution, conventional and renewable power generation, and oil product marketing.
