President Donald Trump explains why he secretly got off Air Force One in Turkey and then took off on another plane to England. The switch took place on July 8 in Ankara where Trump attended a NATO summit. On Aug. 11, Trump told reporters that the Secret Service and military made the decision for him to switch planes in response to unspecified safety threats. The elaborate maneuver, first reported by the Washington Post, was prompted by an Iranian assassination threat against Trump.
