Symbiotec Pharmalab Ltd’s initial public offering (IPO) had received cumulative bids for 91,68,240 shares against the total offer size of 1,31,24,929 shares by 3.30 PM on day one, translating to an overall subscription of 0.70 times. The IPO is open for subscription from August 24 to August 27.

The ₹1,757 crore issue, priced at ₹938–988 per share, comprises a fresh issue of ₹150 crore and an offer for sale of ₹1,607 crore. The offer for sale is being conducted by promoter Satwani Holdings LLP and public shareholders Rosewood Investments and India Business Excellence Fund III.

Among investor categories, the employee reservation portion led with 1.19 times subscription. Non-Institutional Investors (NII) in the sub-₹10 lakh bracket were the only open-market category to cross full subscription at 1.33 times. Retail Individual Investors stood at 0.82 times, while the broader NII category was at 0.86 times. Qualified Institutional Buyers (QIB) remained the weakest segment at 0.35 times, with Foreign Institutional Investors accounting for 2,90,685 of the 13,18,410 QIB bids received so far.

SBI Securities, which has assigned a Subscribe recommendation to the issue, noted that Symbiotec holds a global leadership position in corticosteroid and steroidal-hormone APIs by volume, with market shares of 38.2 per cent and 23.8 per cent respectively. The brokerage flagged the company’s Revenue, EBITDA and Adjusted PAT CAGR of 10.2 per cent, 17.8 per cent and 7.8 per cent respectively over FY24–FY26. At the upper price band, the issue is valued at a post-issue FY26 P/E of 54.6 times, which the analyst described as reasonably valued relative to listed peers such as Concord Biotech and Divi’s Laboratories.
